hi - i've got infected toenails (yuck). GP sent a referral to podiatry, who may want to remove the nails, and in the meantime started me on Keflex 4x/day for 10 days. its a pregnancy Cat B so should be ok, but anyone know of any problems for the baby while taking it? i'm 28 weeks, just started 3rd trimester. thanks in advanceAdvance care plus Advance relief-
Keflex should be fine for the baby. But, if it is not severely infected...i wouldn't take it. Removing the corner of the nails would take the infection away almost instantly. You can apply topical antibiotic ointment (neosporinNeosporin Neosporin ophthalmic Neosporin ophthalmic ointment) and soak the feet in epsomEpsom salt salts and warm water to dry out the infection.
