pregnancy not found in altra scan

Am ten weeks pregnant and yet nothing have been seen through altra scan I feel very pregnany I have sore breast and frequent urination and. Yet after my scan the doctor said my right ovary was polycristic left was not cleary vitualied pls help me am so depressed and confussed right now because am so very sure am pregnant.

Hi! If you have missed periods and are 10 weeks pregnant, then ultrasound should be positive. Alternatively you can be having blighted ovum or pregnancy without baby. Thhe third possibility is that you are not pregnant. The you should look for other causes. Sometimes a craving for a child leads a woman to experience pregnancy like symptoms. Liver (hepatitis), gall bladder and kidney problems too can cause these symptoms. IBS, acidity and GERD too should be ruled out. Hormone imbalance, PCOD, prolactinomas and HIV too are the other possibilities.
If you have missed your periods then please take a pregnancy test. If urine pregnancy test is negative then go for a blood pregnancy test. A blood HCG estimation test would be most reliable. If the test is negative then you are not pregnant. If it is borderline, repeat after a week to see if the levels are rising. Rising levels indicate pregnancy. If this too is negative then other causes of delayed or missed periods will have to be looked at such as stress whether emotional or physical, hypothyroidism, polycystic disease of the ovary, pituitary tumors secreting prolactin, anemia and poor diet, hormonal imbalance, unexplained or sudden weight gain or weight loss.
