pregnancy test

I was just wondering if any of you guys have tested negative for a pregnancy test 4 days after you 've missed your period. I did and I though to myself "Oh well I might have missed my period for one reason or another" except that it has never happened to me in 13 years. I'm also experiencing cramps and I feel very bloated. I have a hard time believing that a pregnancy test could give a negative result if indeed I am pregnant considering they are so accurate. Should I take another test later this week?

Take a test later in the week--the pregnancy hormone just not might be showing up yet.  How late exactly are you?  I tested when I was a week late.

I have missed AF when I was really stressed out before.  I also missed her when I worked out way too much in April (I did a triathlon and half marathon on back to back weekends).  So it's possible you're just late and it's very possible you might be preg!!  I hope it is the latter.  Good luck!

I tested neg. a couple days after af was due, then positive about a week later.  You could have ovulated later than you thought.

Absolutely, take another test.  It's a good idea to wait at least 2 days and take another one using FMU, especially with the symptoms.

Good luck!!

maybe just to early to test. it's funny that when someone else is testing and wondering why came out negative we can quickly say maybe too early to test, but when it's ourselves it's so hard to hold out. i know this from experience. i tested twice this a.m. (af due anywhere between sunday and today)i am at 15DPO. i know exactly when i ovulated because i did iui and would think if pregnant then it would show up on test at this point, but both came out negative. of course i'm probably not and will probably get af any minute :( the dr. told me i can come in for blood test 2 weeks after ovulated so i was going to go in yesterday and then again today, but chickened out - i feel weird going in when probably not even pregnant and test coming out negative. well if no af by tomorrow morning (yeah, sure)i'll go in (if i have the guts) anyhow sorry for going off on a tangent on your forum, but needed to vent - i really hope for you that this month you get your bfp!! good luck and keep us posted.

I totally understand Mrs.Austin, we had a miscarriage on May 12th (my husbands b-day) and July is the first month we are trying again.  I'm praying we conceived and we won't know until the first week of August.  My cycle should start August 2... the stress and excitement is crazy. I wish we could find out right away... Good Luck!

I am 3 days late and tested - this morning.  I feel pregnant with many symptoms.  How long does it usually take for a + to show up on an HPT?  I've talked to people who found out before they missed AF, but some say is takes awhile.  I'm getting impatient.  Should I go get a blood test?

I have five kids and with TWO of them, the test never showed until about 5 weeks pregnancy.... so yes , tests can be negative falsly. I also with my fifth prenancy, showed negative on a BLOOd test where they also measured the HCG levels which were just too low...
