pregnency

i was tested weekly positive for pregnency.my hcg level was 62.they said it is negative.after 3 days i was tested again.this time my hcg level dropped to 22.but at the same time a u/s revealed a pretty normal gestation sac for 4 weeks pregnancy .i am really confused as to wat is happening.i had been spotting for quite some time but that has stopped now .the doctor has asked me to be tested again for hcg..can anyone help?

I went through the same thing...twice. Whenever you HCG levels drop, it is a sign of a miscarriage. At 4 weeks of pregnancy, all they can see is a yolk sac. There isn't a heartbeat to be seen due to it being so early. When the test your HCG levels again, if it less than 22, then that will confirm that you had a miscarriage and your body is purging. I'm sorry about that.

Yeah, Monday of this week I had 2 positive prego tests and based on when my period was I should have been about 5wks along. Then, Tuesday and Wednesday I had negative tests. Thursday I started bleeding. So, my HCG levels dropped too and I prob miscarried. I read that this has always been common, meaning that 50% of all pregnancies before 10wks normally MC but that the only reason they are noticed more now is because we can test for such low levels of HCG. Sad but true.
