psychological effects of a miscarriage

What kind of psychological effects can arise after a miscarriage?  My ex-husband's wife had a miscarriage and shortly after started to become extremely obsessed with my daughter.  My daughter started acting strange and telling me that she knows I don't love her.  Now we're having to go to court for custody issues.  Things seemed to have all happened right after she miscarried and I'm really having a hard time with her trying to brainwash my daughter.  I am looking for any studies that can connect the psychological effects of a miscarriage and how it can cause a woman to become attached to another child.

I don't know that you will find any studies indicating as such, but having a miscarriage can be devastating for a woman. I have had several and one in particular was crushing for me. I did not have the same reaction you describe, but I imagine some women have.

I am sorry it is causing troubles in your life, but I sincerely hope you work towards helping her find help for this rather than use it against her. I am sure this situation is difficult for all involved. With counseling and proper time to grieve she will likely change her behavior.
