question BBT charting?

question BBT charting?

Hello ladies,
i have a question about temps and charting. If I am already 8 dpo is it too late to start taking my temps to see if they are high?
What is a normal temp for a pregnant women? I have looked on the internet and all I get is that it will be a very minimal difference. My temp has been about 97.1-97.2 the last couple mornings. Does that tell me anything or does that seem way too low to be preggers?
Sorry about all the qs? Just needing to know.
Thanks, good luck to all!!!!

Really, my temps seem to low to have o'd already? I took an ovulating test and it came up positive on about day 11. I hope I didnt have missed ovulation.
Thanks

My temp did drop during implantation.  My normal temp before preg was 97.5, after I O it raised up to 98.1 and stayed high.  I'm 6w1d and when it was time for my period I kept taking my temp and it was staying high, it never dropped past my coverline.  I would say your temp is low and I wouldn't think you're preg.  I took mine this morning, just to see and it was 98.0.

Like I said you have no idea what your pre-o temps are so it is hard to judge them this cycle. I would def start to temp on CD1 for next time and you will see clearly when you O. Good Luck!!!

You're correct about that.

Harley girl is right you need to start on the first day of your period but it does seem low.  I was about 97.2 before O and 97.9 after O.  It's remained high for 7 days now but it does that until you either get your AF or if you're preggers.  Good luck.

You need to start temping prior to actual ovualtion so start next cycle on the first day period arrives. Your temps seem very low to have ovualted but then again you do not know what your pre-ovulation temps are.
Not everyone has an implantation dip. I didn't and am pregnant.
My pre-o temps were 97.3 and after I ovulated they went up to 98.4.

I agree with what everyone posted. But I have another question regarding BBT and didn't want to open a new question... I have been temping since AF and my temps have been 97.3 to 97.8 and I'm no CD 16. (My last cycle was 40 days although the norm is 31). So anyway, this a.m. I woke up for a brief moment so I took my temp and it was 97.6 and I fell right back to sleep. I woke up a few hours later and tested again and it was 98.2. Why are my temps so different in just a few hours? Which temp should I use? I would think I would O one of these days!! Thanks!

You should try to take your bbt about the same time every morning.  So I would use whichever temp is closest to your normal temp'ing time.

Oh yeah, one more thing. Do you have a drop in temp around implantation??
Thanks, Brynn

I agree with Harley-Girl.  You don't know what your temps before O are so you can't really make a judgement.  For me before O my temps are in the range of 97 to 97.5. after ovulation from 97.6-98.3.  So If you are like me, than you haven't ovulated yet, but I can't say that for sure, since you don't have a history of your temps prior to O.  Start temping on the first day of your next period to see what you temp patterns are.  Good luck to you..

Some women can take their temp any time and have it be the same.  I'm one of those, but for other women you have to take it at the same time every day to know what your true temp is.  If you went by the temp you took a few hours later then you would probably think you had ovulated when you probably hadn't, which is why you take it at the same time every day.

I wouldn't take my temp during my period and for a few days after because I knew when I usually ovulated.  Once you've been doing it for a while you start to see a pattern.  Hopefully though you won't have to do it for very long.

Here is a great site to use to track your temp.  Plus it has FAQ section that will answer anything for you.  I'm sure the question you're asking is also on there.  The site is:  www.fertilityfriend.com

Good luck to you!  I only had to do it one month to know when I O and became pregnant.
