question about mirena coil removal

question about mirena coil removal

Hi ladies.

had my coil removed on Friday night, wooohoooooo! Doctor who removed it said I can start trying right away as scan would be able to give accurate due date, I was on day 3 of my period when it was removed and am still bleeding now, will the removal make me bleed any longer? By this point at my period when the coil was in the flow would be light now, it's still quite dark and old looking blood, although having said that i'm only using one pad a day.
My head is saying I want to wait until December and try for a September baby, (have a ds who was born 24th august and he will be one of the youngest when he starts school, bless). My heart says get trying now girl!!

I too had the mirena removed recently...( in July) I starting bleeding 2 days later and again 2 weeks later,  I am guessing that the removal caused some bleeding. I never had my period with the Mirena in so it was not removed while I was on my period. Personally I think that can still take a while to get pregnant soon. It just depends on your body and all. If your gut instinct is to start right away I would say go with that. It could take a while and it could happen right away. Either way, you have that feeling for a reason I figure! Best of Luck!

I had mine removed last Nov. I also did not get periods when I had my IUD so when mine was removed it took another 3 weeks for my period to arrive.  It still took me 5 months to get pregnant. So I say go for it now. You never know how long it may take.
