question for those of you who have miscarried...

okay,  I just had my post op from my d&c 3 weeks ago...  he said my uterus looks great, and he think I might have just ovulated- which is a good sign that we are getting back on track quickly and can start to try again next month-  but I had them test the POC taken during the d&c-  has anyone else had this done?  He said the results came back very abnormal- I don't understand what this means but---  92 XXXX Tetraploidy----  he wants us (hubby and i) to see a genetic councilor and have them do tests- he wants it done before we get pregnant again- he says they will be able to tell how likely we are to m/c next time or how often we might m/c- he also said it could have just been a fluke-  but this is my second m/c...  has anyone been to a genetic councilor-  do you think it is worth it-  maybe it will give us peace of mind for the next pregnancy??  I have the apt set up for next monday- my OB said he is sending me to the best one in town...  I guess it will be worth it??  any one else see one?

I would definately check into it because your blood could be mixing wrong and causing you all to miscarry. And I think but am not sure but I believe there is things they can do to get past that.  Good luck and Baby dust to you.  DH and I are going to look into this if we have anymore MC....

I'm sorry you are going through this. It's hard enough to handle a mc without other worries added to it. I had testing after my mc, but all came back fine. It's definitely something to look into. Perhaps there are measurements that can be made to keep from repeating. I wish you the best.

Definitely see the counsellor.  I have a friend who had two kids.  She found out when her oldest was 4 that they had a genetic liver disorder.  They told my friend is was a 50-50 chance of any child having this disorder.  The younger boy was not affected.  Her daughter had two transplants, both of which were rejected and she passed at 15.  Get as much info as you can, maybe this is a rare problem and you can have many babies with no problem.

Thanks!  We are going on monday-  my OB doc did tell me that he thinks we will be able to have normal pregnancies again too....  I am hoping they can give us some guidance when we go next week!  Thanks again!
