You will receive a shot of Rhogam after delivery, if your baby happens to have a positive blood type, that's all.

actually you should get a shot at 28 weeks as well. the RH factor affects more in the 2nd pregnancy.

I am also Rh negative. I have had seven healthy children with no ill effects from this. I received a shot of Rhogam at 28 weeks pregnant, and then again after delivery. (actually this one is only IF your child is +) All seven of mine got Daddy's blood---A+. So I DID have to have the shot each time. But if the baby were to be negative, you wouldn't have to have it after delivery. But its not a big deal at all anymore. In the "olden days", babies would die from this. My husbands grandma lost a couple babies because of it. But there is no longer a problem with it because of the Rhogam shot that is given.
