saggy baggy boobs

by twiceadopt, May 18, 2007 12:00AM
hi... i'm still having breast pain (comes on and sticks around for a week at a time) but cabbage leaves do seem to help, so maybe its still engorgement. anyway i've started noticing that before a feed my boobs look like - well - boobs. then after 10 minutes of sucking, they're like deflated balloons. i assume this is typical?  also, she's about 8 wks now and goes no longer than 2 hrs between feeds during the day... when does it go to more like 3 hrs between feeds? thanks in advance-

Dear saggy baggy,

I know too well how you feel.  My favorite is when is I finished nursing 2 babies for 12 months each.  Talk about permanent 'saggy baggy'.  lol

Your daughter will soon go longer w/out feedings, but seems to be thriving on your bags, so all is well.  Take care, and good luck w/those bags when you have completed your nursing!!!  :0)

I feel that I am a perfect candidate for breast augmentation.....Maybe for my 40th birthday!

lol you guys are funny.. hey.. what about when you only feed on one side.. and then you pull your shirt back down.. and you look like you have no boob on one side..and big boobage on the other..lol..

my breasts seem to have become normal again....they dont deflate anymore.. well. they do to some degree.. but i dont  look like ms halfsie ...lol.. Zane eats every hour though.. ( and i mean every hour) so maybe my boobs dont have a chance to look saggy baggy.. i am soo fearful as to what they are going to look like when I stop breastfeeding..

oh yeah I know what you mean.  My boobs look amazing if I haven't fed my daughter in a couple hours, but if she's been on an eating binge, they look like empty tube socks, lol.  What's really annoying is I feel like one size of bra doesn't fit.  When I'm engorged, it has to be 36D, but after a feeding, my old 34C bras fit.  What are we supposed to do!

you're lucky if your old bras come anywhere close to fitting. i was a 38D or so before getting pregnant... now it's a 40K or 40L. my bra looks like a baby sling for twins.

Just curious, where do you get your nursing bras? I wear a 34G now (28weeks with 2nd baby).  I am nervous as to what size they will be nursing. I had a hard time finding comfortable nursing bras with my son, I wore a 36 H. Thanks!

My actual nursing bras came from Motherhood Maternity, but for late-preggers bras I just went to Nordstrom's and asked for a 38C (I have been a 34B all my life, and the darn 38C fit.)  If you have to, you can nurse with a regular bra, if you slip your arm out of the strap and fold the cup down ... it works in a pinch if you are wearing a tee shirt.  I look forward to someday having to have a plastic surgeon take out an extra fold of skin on the boobs and just make them about a 34A.  LOL

its really hard to find bras with a cup size larger than DD. the only brand i've seen online that is even moderately supportive is Fancee Free. Order early since those larger sizes are hard to get and always seem to need to come from the manufacturer. FWIW i also tried a Playtex large cup (not supportive) and a Medela large cup (that brand seems to run very small)

I had the same thing with sagging boobs after feeding my four children, and I lost weight at weight watchers and it got worse. :(  It really got me down because I'd worked so hard to get to the weight I wanted and I still wasn't happy with how my body looked. Quite depressing.
So when we had a windfall I had breast augmentation last year :) They are fabulous. I would recommend it to anyone.

I'm pregnant again right now, so I'm thinking I may need a bit of a "lift" in the future :)
