saline hysterogram Vs. hysterosalpinograph

is there a difference between these two procedures? I called to make an appointment and the radiology center was confused as to which one I wantedto schedule for. I thought they were the same procedures( I am supposed to have the one that they iject saline to see the uterine cavity). Does anyone know anything about the procedure?

I had a sonohystogram done in Aug 2003 after my 4th loss. I went in on CD 9, they inserted the catheter through my cervix, injected the saline while the tech performed the ultrasound. It was mildly uncomfortable, but not bad. They were able to visualize much more than with a regular u/s and it was a real time live test. I was told to go home and rest afterwards, but like a dummy we went grocery shopping, I ended up doubled over in pain due to the fluid. So fi you have it done and they say go home and rest...do it.

I have not had the hysterosalpinograph, but my understanding is that it involves injecting dye and getting x-rays done to check how well the fluid moves through the fallopian tubes and uterus. I know tons of women have had this procedure done over the years, so I am sure you will receive a lot of helpful advice on this.

The results of mine did not yield anything conclusive, just that I had a 1cm fibroid. But I did get pg that cycle, I joke that it cleaned out my pipes and paved the way for T.
