scans

has anybody been told that they was having a s/he at their scan but when born it was the opposite?

how accrete are doctors with scans?

l have heard from several ppl that if they say girl it still could b a boy

l was 21 weeks at my scan.. and they said girl but i'm worried coz ppl are buying girl bits lol

at 21 weeks are they completely formed down stairs?

I've heard stories but ultrasounds are so good these days, it is hard for me to believe they get it wrong that often.  

I'm having a boy.  I had u/s at 18wk, 20wk and 29wk.  All three showed very good view of 'him' from the back of this legs and you could see his little boy part plain as anything.  It was so obvious, you did not need to be an u/s tech to know what you were looking at.

With modern ultrsound technology chances are very slim that they would be wrong...most u/s techs won't give you an answer unless they are certain or they will tell you how certain they are...like with one of my daughters they told me 80% and it was correct.  With 3d/4d u/s some of those places actually GAURANTEE the gender results.  I really think you have nothing to worry about

Iv heard of them getting it wrong but as TC and LMM said modern ultrasound tech is great. I think the though of what if creaps in with a lot of ppl. I found out at 19 weeks that i am having a boy, i had the same thoughts of what if but i soon got over it. My boy is due in about 11 days :) and we are reasured he's a boy from the 34 week scan, no mistaking there LOL

We have had two cases in our family where we were supposed to be adding girls but ended up with boys.  My SIL second child was supposed to be a girl, she paid for an u/s to determine the sex, but we were suprised when he popped out a boy after spending LOTS of money on girl clothes.  That was almost 11 years ago.  The second case was my sister who had 3 u/s all saying girls, and he popped out a boy, he will be 1 in 7 days.  =)

So, with our little surprises there were quite a few years between them.  I am supposed to be having a girl.. which will be my moms first grandaughter.    So everyone is keeping there finger crossed that THIS TIME the u/s is CORRECT.  =)
