second miscarriage

I just found out today that i had my second miscarriage. i should of been 5w but my blood levels were very low and dropping. I had a miscarriage in july 2006 at 10w, delivered a full term baby in may 2007. My doctor said he would like to send both me and my husband for chromosome testing. With my first miscarriage i had a D&C and this time they told me to wait and my body should naturally flush it out within 2 weeks.  I'm just very upset, and not sure what to expect next. I would like to have another child, but don't know if i can handle this again. Has anyone had any luck finding out why they miscarried?  ( or any advice on handling all this?) Im hoping the chromosome testing will have some answers for us.

I'm so sorry for your losses and what you're going through.  I have had a total of 3 miscarriages.  two back to back in early '08 each at about 5 weeks, a 'normal' pregnancy (boy) and then one this summer @ about 8 weeks-but am pregnant again @ 18 weeks.  After the first two I went through the whole round of testing.  In the chromosome analysis they found I have MTHFR - a blood clotting issue for which I was told to take baby aspirin.  I do and it worked once (with the third pregnancy) and I have my son. It seems to be doing the trick now although this summer it didn't make a difference.  The specific chromosome where my issue is is c677t - it doesn't mean a whole lot to me but the MTHFR your drs should know about.  Really- baby aspirin did the trick.  I've heard of others having similar success with baby aspirin.  Good luck.
