You are actually being crazy - just relax, your little one is protected inside by the placenta and amniotic fluid. Avoid taking off the shelf drugs for your cough cos they are the ones which could affect the baby. I read somewhere that its better to sleep on the right side as sleeping on the left prevents blood from flowing properly from the heart - but i bet its still too early for you - so you can still enjoy sleeping on both sides.

Congs and good luck for the rest of your pregnancy!

You are too funny. I still sleep half way on my tummy. I will stop when it feels uncomfortable for me. The baby is so protected it's crazy. But I would call your Dr. and ask what kind of cough medicine you can take. Im sure you need your sleep and waking up in the middle of the night doesnt help. Other than that, I hope you are doing well. What are your symptoms? I had morning sickness, but I didnt have it yesterday or today, so that worries me a little. I am going to see if I can go in sometime next week. I have been having some really bad lower back pain(feels the same as when it did when I mc) and my uterus is soooooo sore by the end of the day. I just dont feel comfortable not knowing. That had better be good enough for them!

Thank u for ur reply.Yaa..other than this everything is ok..and no other symptoms other than sore breasts. When I wake up in the morning the pain is more than in the entire day..Apart from this everything is fine.I never felt such pain in my previous m/c.I had severe lower back pain ,pain in breasts which lasted only till 7th week .No nausea nor morning sickness during that time. But last week I had fever(just 99) and was feeling very weak and  was not able to stand for few minutes.I wanted to sleep all the time and doesn

I agree, i still slept on my tummy at that time. i slept on my tummy until i was atleast 12 wks or so...
and i just recently had a bad cold, with sore throat, sneezing, sinus pressure, and a cough, and they told me i could take otc sudafed. And he also prescribed me something, so i would call your dr first and ask.

I was told to sleep on the LEFT side.  I have heard that alot on here and read it in books.  You can take Robitussin, Sudafed, Tylenol products when you have a cold!  Good luck!  Stop stressing!  Your baby will be fine!

Neeli, I called the doctor about my concerns. The nurse scheduled me for another ultrasound today. I hope everything goes well. I have to go alone this time.... :( I will keep you updated on what they say. Cross your finger and hope for the best!

You can take robutussin--then with no alcohol in it.  That is what my doctor told me.

Your baby is the size of a bean right now so you're really not going to crush him or her.  Sleep however you want til he's bigger (12 wks or so). Crushing arteries is more serious at 20 weeks and on (ie uterus while laying on back pushes on major artery to heart). Left is always best but you don't need to be a fanatic.
