slow rising hcg levels

I had u/s last Thurs (at 7w6days), saw hb(169), crl 14mm although report said gestational sac was small,Beta HCG was 12172. Yesterday,(2 days later) levels were 12364. Not a huge increase. Have had bleeding, increasing a bit but dr. says it looks like old blood although what I am getting is red, not brown, few clots and lower backpain, slight cramping but not increasing.  Had m/c in March of this year at 81/2 weeks with similar symptoms, although Beta Hcg levels weren't known as they are now.  Am worried that I'm on the road to having another m/c.  Dr. wants another u/s done and levels rechecked tomorrow.  Any thoughts?

My thoughts are that once you have seen a fetus on ultrasound, with a heart rate, the beta HCG levels are not of much value.  Your doc can see everything he needs to see on ultrasound.

Good luck.  I hope everything works out well.
