spotting after giving birth OR period?

I gave birth on May 13th almost 6wks ago and i am not sure if i am spotting or having my period i am not sure when my period is supposed to get back on track. I have my 6wk appt on weds (the 28th) i am sure i can ask the doctors but thought i would get some help here first. Its not heavy or anything so i thought it was spotting... is it normal for that to happen 6wks after giving birth?

I am sure you are just spotting still from birth. I often quit bleeding then start spotting again and do that on and off for at least 6 weeks.

Yes, I spotted with both of my boys until the 6th week.  My period for the 1st didn't come until he was 6 months old.  Stopped nursing when he was 13 weeks.  Second came normally after I started the pill.  Hope this helps.

I had bleeding for 10 days and after came spotting for about 3 or 4 days.  I had my baby may 15th and spotting all gone but every woman not the same.

see with me i bled and whatever else came out came out for like 2-3 weeks and then stopped but now i am bleeding its kind of like a period not as heavy. But i go for my 6wk check up tomorrow can they still check the things they need to check? if anyone gets this and knows can you email me (dn_214_00***@****) i am just curious if they still do an internal exam when you are bleeding?
