spotting and breastfeeding

I had Lily in November and have been nursing her ever since.  I got my first period last month (May) and this month I only had very light spotting for 2 days and now nothing.  Is this normal?  With my first child when my period came back it was always normal after that.  I am still nursing Lily but she is eating solids now.

My nurse practitioner told me that spotting, cramping, nipple tenderness, etc. is normal while breast feeding and waiting for your body to regulate itself.  I am four months post partum.  My first period was light and lasted for 3 days, while my 2nd was just some spotting and a lot of cramping and that was basically it.  I think I finally ovulated a couple weeks ago, and I am hoping that this week will be my 1st "normal" cycle.  I am not pregnant, but it will be nice to stop worrying about what is going on with my body even though everything is normal after you have a baby and you have been nursing--I stopped at the 2 mth. mark with my DD.

It sounds normal to me.  If you think there is a chance you might be pregnant, then by all means take a pregnancy test, but otherwise I wouldn't worry too much, it only makes things more erratic.
