spotting when 15 wks pregnant

hi im am currently 15 wks pregnant with my 3rd child i have had 2 healthy pregnancies then a missed miscarriage last year and now i am pregnant again but i started to bleed bright red blood when i was 12 wk so i went straight to the er and was told my cervix was closed so they didnt know what caused the bleed so they gave me a scan and found a healthy baby with a strong heartbeat but now im 15wks and 4 days ago i started to spot brown blood there seems to be loads every morning in the toilet(sorry tmi) but then the rest of the day i just have a little spotting ive been to the hospital but they just said that because its brown theres nothing to worry about so they never examined me or checked the baby was ok they just said go home and if it gets heavy come back but i cant stop worrying, im just praying that my baby is fine has anyone bled brown blood and still went on to have a health baby any help would be appreciated . please help thanks

I don't know much more other than brown blood equals OLD blood so it's possible that you had a bleed somewhere, hence your bleeding at 12 weeks that was red, and it just didn't all come out so now the rest is coming out and it's brown because it's old.  If you aren't comfortable, I'd call you doc. first thing Monday morning to make an appt. to go in and hear the heartbeat, etc.  I wish you the best.
