started period late at night--count as day 1???

I have started my period at 10:30 at night...very light.  Do I count today as Day 1 of my cycle or do I count tomorrow?  I have to start taking Clomid on Day 5 so I want to do it on the right day.

My clinic told me that if I started after 5:00 (their closing time) count the next day as day one. It used to irritate me to pieces when I would start at 5:30 or 6:00ish!

I think if I was pretty light at 10:30, I would count the next day as the first day--when the flow was a little heavier.
