starting clomid next week

by jennyb473, Dec 28, 2006 12:00AM
I've posted a few times before - but for those that don't know, 3 m/c since last December, all by 6 weeks (12/27/05, 4/30/06, 10/27/06).  I'm on metformin now (1500mg/day) and will be starting clomid next week.  Any advice, stories, experiences, horror stories?  I'm an very excited and very nervous to be starting it.  The idea of the clomid, and probably progesterone supplements after I conceive, just makes me so confident that this time things will work out fine and by this time next year I'll finally be a mommy, but then that nagging feeling that it won't happen creeps up on me.  Is this just the beginning of another emotional rollercoaster for me?  I've heard the clomid isn't nice to some people - and I can do that on my own!

I have been on Clomid for two months, first month I was 50mg with 100mg metformin, this month I was put on 100mg clomid and continued 100mg met. I am as of to day three days late, I am testing this afternoon hoping to see a bfp! I would recommend trying robitussin 5 days before you ovulate so that you do not dry up on it. That is what I did this month and sure hope that it worked!! The clomid makes me really moody and I have horrible hot flashes the first three weeks! I also had a miscarriage in May of this year it was very very heartbreaking to me. SO good Luck to you and may 2007 be our lucky year!!

I was on 50mg of Clomid for 3 cycles.  I was on it days 3-7.  I took mine at nite to try to rid myself of any other side effects.  Apparently it worked cause I only got hot flashes!  By the 3rd one I got preggo.  The only thing I didnt like about it was I got TERRIBLE hot flashes at nite.  They would be so bad I would have to strip down to my undies to cool off.  Then after I would O then I would be ok.  Oh and I got cramps when I was Oing so I knew I did.  It helped me and Im sure it will help you.  GOOD LUCK!!

I got my BFP on my second round of Clomid. It does work! I had been ttc since Sept/Oct 05 and had a m/c on 1/20/06. I am currently 4 weeks 5 days and I have a good feeling that this baby is going to stick around. I wish you the best of luck!

thank you all for your quick responses - I guess I'm in for a treat with the clomid, but if it will work for me like it has for you guys then it will be soooo worth it!  Good luck and sticky baby dust to you all!
