stomach pressure at 11 weeks

For those of you daily readers you may remember my previous postings.  In short, my last pregnancy ended in Dec. due to PROM (ruptured membranes or water breaking WAY too early) at 18 weeks.  I carried my son to 30 wks... unsuccessfully.  I am now 11 weeks along and had my 1st apt last week w/ the perinatologists (high risk group).  So far everything looks great.  My question is, is it normal to feel pressure in your lower abdomen this early? I'm not in any real pain, no cramping or bleeding but there is this feeling of heaviness.  Is this just my uterus growing and stretching?  I notice it more when I'm on my feet for awhile.  I know this pregnancy is going to be more stressful.  Every little twinge I feel gets me wondering if it's normal.  I just don't want a repeat of last time.

my guess is it's just your uterus stretching.  as long as you are not cramping or bleeding or spotting that is a very good sign.  I hope the best of luck to you! =)

Hi, it is great to hear that you are working with a high risk group. My wife and I lost our first at 21 weeks due to an incompetent cervix. We have learned that this is a condition responsible for about 1% of preterm births. Ultrasounds can detect changes in the cervix so that action can be taken before the child is lost. The digital method of checking the cervix is unreliable. My wife had a prior D&C, and we went to two cycles of IVF to get pregnant. Since you lost your first, you want to keep a close eye on this. She did not have any signs and everything was going great up to week 21. Please educate your self on this condition. Best of luck to you!!
