stopped nursing - no period yet I'm concerned

I have a 6 1/2 month old son. I breastfed him for 5 months and then I only nursed him twice at night for 1 more month.  I have now completely stopped nursing him.  I still have not started my period.  This is my third child.  With my 2 previous children I got my normal period within 2-3 days of stopping nursing.  I am concerned that it has been over a month since I stopped nursing full time and over 2 weeks since I stopped the nighttime feedings.  My OB had me on birth control pills when I left the hospital in September because I am very fertile and get pregnant with just a sneeze.  But I had to stop my BC because they were causing me to have headaches in December.  Any ideas or suggestions? I have taken several pregnancy tests but they all come out negative.

My period didn't come back for ten weeks after I stopped breast feeding and I only breast fed for three weeks.  I hope all is well for you!

it took months for mine to come back and that was only with hormones to get it back

Thank you both for your insight.  Will my hormones ever level back out?  I feel like screaming one minute, crying the next and just down other times.  I don't remember going through this with the other two babies!  I also teach school so these mood swings aren't the best!
