you can get a double for under 200. mine cost me around 150 and it is the kind that the infant seat locks into.

unless you are sure  your 3 year old is always going to want to walk i would get the double. i think i've even seen them at wal mart for around 100 dollars

stroller

Hi,
Just needed some opinions....I'm 17 weeks pregnant.  When our baby is born in Jan our DD will be 3 1/2.  I'm hearing people say we'll need a double stroller and others say a single since our daughter will be 3 1/2..what do you think?? Get a single and have our 3 year old walk or a double.  I just want to get it right since they arent too cheap (the strollers).
THANKS!

I had a double stroller with my boys they were 20 months apart--for the most part it was a waist of money...My little guy was pretty independent a 2 1/2 and for the most part ran or walked everywhere.  Now if you do a lot of walking for distances this may be good for you...but also check into those tandem strollers (I think that is what it is) where there is a step for them to stand on to ride and a place for the baby.  It might be better for you.

I would not necessarily get a double stroller...your dd is getting too big to have to push the weight of two around....and they are awkward....they do have the strollers now that have the extra step in the back where a small child can sit or stand while you push it around......that way, you will get more use out of it as they can walk along as well and when tired just step up or sit for the ride......they have them at babies rus online....check  them out.

DD and baby #2 will be 18 months apart.  Is it a waste of $ to get a double stroller?  I assume DD won't be old enough to be walking everywhere independently.

My daughter will be 3.5 when my son is born and I just bought a new travel system for him.  Stroller and carrier combo.  She's big enough to walk so I don't see the need in buying a double stroller.

I bought the sit and stand combo and it was the best thing I ever bought. My son was 3 1/2 when my dd was born. It was great, he really enjoyed standing and me pushing them. It had a strap that you could buckle behind him. I'd say spend the money because you'll end up carrying one of them. Also, I saw a double umbrella stroller for around $75 at k-mart or wal-mart. I think it was a koolcraft brand???? Best wishes.

I think that a good idea would be to get a stroller that has that extra little step thing that your child can sit or stand on.  Your little one will still be in a stroller when your older one will want to be out running around.  If you want the extra space then go for a double.

My kids are 3 years apart. I have a 10 mo old and a 4 year old and I LOOOOOVE my double stroller. So if you're asking me, it's worth it. I would probably go for a side by side vs tandem but that's just personal preference
