suppose to be 7 weeks but baby is only measuring five weeks and no heartbeat??

hi..i went in for my first ultrasound on Friday. Im suppose to be 7 weeks and 3 days according to my last period which was 5.16.11 but i always have been pretty irregular with my periods..The us tech said that the baby was only measuring five weeks and there was no heartbeat!  Im going crazy tryn to figure out if maybe i just conceived later than i thought! i still feel pregnant. nausea , sore breasts. i got blood work done and have to return money for more to see if my levels are increasing!. has this ever happened to anyone else may i just not be as far along as i thought? im very scared that maybe i mis carried and my dr suggested a d&c but im scared to have that done if there is a chance that my baby is ok :(. i have 3 health children already and this is my first pregnancy scare..any advice would be greatly appreciated

If your cycles are irregular, you can't go off of them. Before jumping to any conclusions. you need to have another ultrasound done in a week or so, as well as more blood testing. The chances are high that you're just too early to actually see anything.

Hi Heartbeats aren't seen until 6 weeks and sometimes later. Try not to worry too much. I know that's hard. I have had preg scares and have 4 healthy children. I would wait definately for a d&c and give this little one a chance. We always think we are further along than we are(wishful thinking I think) Good luck hope it all works out for your family.

This is my first and I am in the same boat as you, but was told I have an enlarged yolk sac too. I am trying to stay positive. From what I know you have much better odds than me being that this is not your first. Try to stay positive and please let me know any news as I am freaking out as well.
