thirsty dehydrated and pregnant

by mgi, Apr 10, 2005 12:00AM
Hi
I am worried about my pregnancy  (I probably will be all 9 months)  but has anyone out there had these symptoms.  I am only 4 weeks pregnant  (through IVF So every little thing worries me)  I am thirsty all the time.  I am dehydrated a lot (you know the test where you pinch your skin and if it stays inposition your dehydrated)   and also my toes and fingers are frozen a lot - frozen to the point of numbness when it is in 60s outside?  Anyway if any of you have experience let me know thanks

Do you drink enough??  Constantly thirsty is one sign of diabetes, but that usually doesnt get tested until further along in the pregnancy. Talk to your doctor about this, Has this just happened since you became pregnant or have you had this a while.
Another thing is some medications  make you thirsty are you on any meds???

I know I am always thirsty too.  I agree that it can be a sign of diabetes, but I also think it can be because when you are pregnant you urintate much more than usual. I know that they recommend pregnant women to drink alot of water.  I'm not sure about the cold extremities... maybe it is because your blood flow is in high demand making that precious little one of yours and so your circulation isn't what it used to be.  Just a thought.  I'd definitely contact your doctor though and just let him know what is going on.  Good luck to you!

poor circulation is another sign of diabetes NOT saying you have it  But make sure you check into it.

Good Luck

You have to be so excited about your u/s.  I remember not sleeping the night before and getting to the office like an hour early!

I LOVED U/S  It is so reassuring to see your little one and hear the heartbeat. Whether this is your 1..2...3...etc. a miracle in itself.
Best wishes
