two periods in two weeks when do I ovulate

by sisterjackie, Jan 06, 2009 02:04PM
I had a period one week and then started again the next week.  I figured my ovulation cycle based on the second period, but now I'm feeling like I might be pregnant which would be like I ovulated after the first period.  Could I ovulate after both?  I was positive for ovulating on schedule after the second period.

Did both periods seem like normal periods for you as far as flow and length etc? And when you say you were positive for ovulating do you mean you used an OPK or something?

Oh and if your first "period" was weaker it could have been breakthrough bleeding due to low progesterone etc....that's just one of many thoughts.  Also did the first period arrive on time as what you expected?

If they were both like regular periods then I'm just not sure. There are a lot of different reasons why women can have irregular bleeding, but the closeness and degree of the bleeding is what makes me unsure. I'm not sure by what you wrote if you had your period with one week of no bleeding in between, or if it was just two straight weeks of bleeding where it maybe seemed to taper off in the middle....if that was the case could you have miscarried? Its also possible your hormones are WAY out of wack which could cause the bleeding and the pregnancy symptoms...or somehow you could be pregnant although I think that would be pretty unlikely.  I don't think it would be a bad thing to follow your ovulation kit and assume you would be ovulating now based on the second period...but if you have any more irregular bleeding or oddness in your cycle I would definitely talk to your doctor about it.  Especially if you are ttc you don't want to let stuff like that go too long. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.  Good luck to you!
