update and low fetal heart rate

by mgi, Apr 19, 2005 12:00AM
hi all
thanks for all your well wishes last week.  There has been no more blood since Sat.  Today I had my ultrasound.  6 weeks 2 days.  I was so excited when they saw the heartbeat.  Untill she said it was low.  It was only 101.  I have another ultrasound in 6 days and hope I won't be anxiuoos for the next six days.  I am waiting for the fertility specialists to call to see if they have any advice.  I did go through someold archives here to see what has been said but I'd love info from anyone with experience.  I am of course nervous and scared.   thanks.  (ps lovinmom I tried to go to your site but couldn;t to browse this topic?)

That heartbeat does not sound so low, my first u/s at just over 7 weeks was only 117 bpm.  It starts low, speeds up the further along you get and then slows down again closer to delivery.  Chin up, it's good news that you can see baby and that there is a heartbeat!!!  Congrats!!!  Motherhood is not far away, then you'll have something to complain about LOL!  Good luck and don't stress yourself out for the next six days, positive thoughts and I'll send some baby dust to you.

When I was 6W1D I had an u/s and the heartbeat was 100 BPM. My next u/s was when I was 7W2D and the heartbeat was 177 BPM. I am currently in my 39th week and due for a c-section on 4/25. Hope this helps.

Don't worry about the heatrate.  If it is 100 or above the baby is probably okay.  Try not to stress, that is worse than a low heartrate.

thanks all.  Wisegirl your notes are exactly what I needed to hear.  I want to hear the success stories.  thank you.  When I talked to the nurse at teh fertility specialists she said she was surprised there was only one?  Then she said she had to show doctor results so he could tell me about heart rate - haven't heard from him yet.  but thanks again

Congrats on your little one.  It sounds like all is well.  Especially since you are very early.  The heartbeat looks slower at this point and then will increase as you continue your pregnancy.  Try to enjoy this special time in your life.  I know it is so hard to not worry.  That is part of being a mom whether in the womb or out.

thanks
the link worked.  I didn't find much on stories of people who had low rates then they went on for successful pgs?  (or not for that matter)  Oh well till monday I guess I'll just worry every second and wonder about every single darn pain down there.  I had more discharge today.  (I am asking you again because of your experience) Both times now  (fri am and today)  In the night before I woke up with a remendously constricted lower abdomen?  Think there is a link?  I am sure by now my doctor's office is tired of my questions?  thanks for being a sounding board.  I am praying.
