warning for contraceptive (depot) injection/miscarriage caused by contraception

hi im new on here i posted a question on here earlier regarding concieving with having no period since coming off depot injection. This isnt really a question but a warning if anyone was wanting to go on this contraceptive do not do so lightly - I went on it when i was 18 and came off last september when I was 21, I still havent had a period since coming off it. Going to the docs next week, but when i was encouraged to use this method of contraception I wasnt told all the facts- an neither were friends and family that were on it either. I had severe leg crams and went to docs abou this they put it down to weight but Id piled on the weight from been on the injection. Doctors said was nothing to do with the injection. I read all the leaflets on the injection regarding the side effects and it wasnt mentioned. I finally was discussing it with this fabulous nurse at my doctors and she trawled through loads of information on the computer and finally found the information that stated that injection can result in severe leg cramps. This is when I came off the depot. But my cousin unfortunately this year had a miscarriage due to been on the injection she came off it before me and due to been on it for length of time when she fell pregnant she developed a cyst and this caused her to loose the baby. The hospital said that this was directly caused by the injection its not an advertised side effect either this was also never explained to her or me or anyone I know for that matter so please becareful and look at all the facts before you decide to go on this please especially if you are looking to concieve shortly after coming off this.
