last december i had a colposcopy it showed that i have moderate dysplasia im supposed to have another colposcopy this month but im pregnant the placenta is low and due to my past history with miscarriages i don't want to attend the appointment. im worried as i wont be able to attend another appointment for several months, i suffer quite a few of the symptoms have done for a while. what are the chances off me actually getting cancer? i feel its a catch 22 situation
Well yes, this is a tough situation. I suggest you consult your gynecologist and tell about your pregnancy and history of miscarriage. There are other cancer markers which can be done. Also, maybe only a PAP smear will be sufficient for diagnosis. At times, if all tests reveal that your pregnancy is carrying on fine, colposcopy may be attempted. Please discuss with your gynecologist.
