what to do?

They say take folic acid when trying to conceive do you just buy folic acid and take it everyday? or what about a B12 deficiency

you can ask your doctor for a prescription.  Just let them know you are trying and they will call it in.  It is fairly inexpensive.

If you are trying to conceive, you should be on a prenatal vitamin. My doc. recommends you take 400 mg of folic acid, over the counter, no script needed- along with your prenatal.  You can't OD on folic acid as my doc. said you will pass it in your urine however, recommends the 400 mg.  I'm PG and that's what I'm doing.

I was told my my doc that they like to have you on a prenatal vitamins before  you start ttc if possible.. the folic acid in them GREATLY reduces the possibility of birth defects and spinal bifida(sp?) Its also a good idea to go have a pre conception exam if you want to start ttc so they make sure everythings ok and take care of anything that may not be before you get preg. good luck ttc : ) lots of baby dust!

hey thanks so much for your help i have a child already..but i did not take folic acid with her i was not told to but anyways so take prenatal vitamins along with the folic acid everyday while i am trying to concive got it..thanks again! and i sure hope we do get preg!
