when can you see heart-beat?

by 120205B, May 11, 2007 12:00AM
I have had 2 miscarriages and one healthy pregnency.  I would like to know the earliest you can see a heart-beat through an ultrasound.  I want to go in asap when I find out I'm pregnant so I don't have to worry.

I would recommend going in at 7wks. That is when most women see the first heartbeat on a ultrasound.

It really varies from baby to baby and mom to mom! My baby it was 7 weeks when we first saw the heartbeat. (After panicking for a whole week because we didn't see it at 6). Some women here have seen the heartbeat at 5. It really varies. I would still go to the doctor, though. They may consider you high risk with the m/c  you had and want to keep an eye on things a little closer. :)

Hi, I had my first u/s at 6wks 2days, and the doc was able to find the heartbeat fine! Maybe some people it may be later.

I saw my babies heartbeat at 5 weeks, 3 days. Maybe I got lucky with it, but I saw a very strong heartbeat then. :-)
