Sorry to take up a slot, but there was still one available...can ya'll tell me when did your child move from a crib to a toddler bed? My DD is almost thirteen months and we are preggo again and would like to use the crib for the other baby...what have yall done in situations like this? Do I need to buy another crib or what, and how do I transition DD from the crib to regularRegular insulin bed? Any help is much appreciated! Thanks
amber
My daughter is 19 months old and I am sleeping her in a toddler bed have just put her in it during the day and cot at night I will be having another baby soon but have a bassinet she can go in for a couple of months then move her into the cot so my other daughter will be permantly in a toddler bed she will be 21 months old my brothers child has been sleeping in a bed since a year old with a side rail so I guess it just depends on the child.
I moved my daughter out of the crib when she was just past 2. She had no problems at night, but quit her 2-3 hour nap during the day because she was able to see to get up and walk around the room. I kept a child safetyChild safety seats Home safety Safe driving for teens Safety handle on her door for my peace of mind until she was almost 3. I was afraid she would wake up at night and wander through the house. I'm guessing that your littleLittle noses decongestant Little tummys girl will be about 18 mos. when it's time to make the change. Hopefully she won't quit her naps like mine did. I tried everything to get her to nap, but once she had that freedom of movement, that was it.
Be sure to move you dd out of the crib soon enough before the baby arrives so that when it does arrive, your dd won't think that the baby took her bed. My dd moved to a toddler bed at 18 months and new baby was born 6 months later. She did fine...except now she can get out of bed whenever she wants instead of waiting for someone to get her out....not fun sometimes!
My twins started to climb ou their bed at 22m so we had to take out the side. At night it's not really a poblem although they regularly end up in 1 bed or on the floor (for some reason my son likes the floor better and after we stopped fighting about it (putting him back in his bed everytime he doesn't come out of his room anymore and sleeps within 5 minutes. During the day we had to split them up, they just had too much fun!! I put my DD in my son's bed and she sleeps right away, but I have to put my son in my bed and stay with him until he sleeps!!! So you see how different they can be. But I know that doesn't solve the issue with the new baby since it's still the same bed, the baby got a new crib.
I'm in the same situation, and asked the same Q a couple months ago. My DS is 14 months, and he's doing very well in his toddler bed. My DD is 3 yrs old, and she still sleeps with me. I'm slowly trying to break her of that habit. What I do is we have bunk beds in their 1 bdrm. THe bottom bunk is a full, which is very nice. His toddler bed is diagonal from me. She and I sleep in the bunk bed, and he's in the toddler bed. I just want to make sure he's o.k. in it. I put pillows around the areas he might fall out of just in case. We'll be soon moving the (empty for now) crib into that room as well. I'm due late april. He slept in his crib in the master bdrm all this time.
Go ahead and try it. He was 13 months old. But, maybe sleep in the same room if possible so you can easily check on the baby during the night.
I too took off the side of the crib for my DD's and they adjusted well. I gave them a few months before asking if they would like a big girl bed an they both adjusted easily.
My DD went into her big girl bed a month before she turned 2.
I took out extra bedroom and made her a new big girl room and she loves it.
The room was done way before she moved into it but we would play in there and get use to it during the day.
hings were kinda crazy here the months before she moved into her new room so that is why I waited....other wise I would have put her in it sooner.
I didn't want to have to paint a new nurasry knowing we were trying for #2 at the time, thats why I made her a new room!
can't hurt to try and see what happens :)
I dont need the crib til next year (27 weeks prego) so i just recently put my daughter in her "new" room in a bed and she is 3 1/2. she never had sleepign issues so i didnt want to ruin a good thing so i kept her in her crib which she loved. now she loves her new room and bed. i know many peo0ple move the kids out earlier b/c they need the crib. if you are unsure about a big twin then get a toddler bed.
good luck.

Now I would like to ask a question. Has anyone had a ovarian cyst rupture? I have not been monitored this month on clomid (cd 2-6) like I was the first two. I am in a lot of pain on one side and while I had this pain the last 2 months it only lasted 12-24 hours but it has been 3 days now and it is not getting better. I radiates from front to back and hurt when I move too much. Also I have PCOS. Has anyone had any experience as any comments would be greatly appreciated.
