Hey everyone.... would love to have some feedback... has anyone here gotten pregnant WHILE breastfeeding?? just a question i am really wondering about..

Hi there. My sister has just had her 5th baby she breast feed them all. Her first 2 are just under 1 year apart and the last 2 are 13 months apart.

She planned this and did a dip stick every month as she wasn't having any periods.

I have never gotten pregnant while breastfeeding, but my best friend did along w/ another friend. My best friend was toward the end of breast feeding and started to get her period again, although the baby was unplanned. My other friend was nursing her 8 month old and she said she got a suspicion she was, because her son suddenly lost an interest in breastfeeding, She thought it may have tasted differently due to the hormones...Not sure if that is true, but she said her son was the first indicator that she may have been pregnant....So, it is entirely possible.

My best friend got pregnant while breastfeeding. Her first baby was under 6 months. It's very common and physiologically normal. When you breastfeed your body has high level of hormone therefore there is a high chance of getting pregnant.
Then she had a second baby and consult family Dr. about chances of getting pregnant again which Dr. confirmed stating that if she wants to have another child it would be right timing to get pregnant again.

Very possible to get pregnant well breastfeeding. Although I got pregnant a week after I stopped breastfeeding.

Yes-my best friend got pregnant before her period returned, when baby was about 12 weeks old. She was strictly breastfeeding. She now has a 17 month old and a 5 month old!

Of course you can get pregnant while breastfeeding.  It can inhibit ovulation, but does not prevent it reliably.

A friend of mine got pregnant while breastfeeding.  But her child was 2 and still nursing.  Same thing twice over...she has 3 kids, the last two were products while breastfeeding.

My sis did, she claimed she never knew you could get pregnant the first year if you breastfed, but she didn't breastfeed exclusively.  She got pregnant when her first little one was 7 months old.  Are you trying again so soon?  I'm just curious, my little Cameron is about a week older than yours and I'm still too scared to even try having sex yet.  It took me 6 months after my first one from the tearing and even though I didn't tear that bad this time, It's still really sensitive from before.  Maybe I need to get past the fear though.  Anyway, good luck.

My husband & I have only been intimate twice since having had our daughter four months ago. And kind of because we're sneaking around to do so, this second time we didn't use protection. I'm breastfeeding exclusively. But, I guess my question or comment is we shouldn't rely on my breastfeeding to keep us from getting pregnant again, right?

i got pregnant with my second son while breastfeeding my first. it was actually 9 mos. later. i relied on it as my source of birth control. i wasn't even having periods.BE CAREFUL!!!!!!!!!!

My 4 month old son is exclusively breastfed. I also have been wondering about the same things most of you are asking about. Also I haven't been intimate with my husband yet..not since my 2nd triemester in pregnancy.  I guess I'm nervous...since it's been so long. plus will it be uncomfortable since having the baby?? just things i think about.  I told my hubby and he says ..he understands , but hopes we can  get to it soon.  now  we need to just make the time. also..I haven't had my period since before my son was concieved...lmp 1/29/07. I'm not on the pill... so i guess we will have to use condoms. I'm not ready to be preggo again so soon. want to wait at least a year if possible. :o)
