i havent drank a single bit of alcohol when i found out i was preggo and for some stupid reason after i lost my job i had 2 vodkas n coke n half a wkd last friday i know it was so stupid and i wont be doing it again but i so worried now that i may have harmed baby i dont smoke and i take all my vitamins etc do you think this will have harmed baby im 17 weeks today
there is no way to tell of the damage alcohol may do to our littleLittle noses decongestant Little tummys beans it all depends on what exactly is forming in the particular minute that you drink. If there is damage it would probably be to the brain as all the body parts are formed by 17w. That being said. Many of our mothers drank wine while they were pg with us.. back then they didn't say that it was bad. We know better now so try not to worry, as there really is nothing you can do about it now. And just take extraExtra strength mylanta calci tabs Extra strength pain relief special care of your baby now to make up for it to him... good luck, try not to beat yourself up about it or stress as that will only cause more difficulties for your littleLittle noses decongestant Little tummys one. The main thing I think about doing something minor once is not the damage it does but IF anything is wrong with your baby when it is born (god forbid) you will feel guilty for the rest of your life wondering if it was you that caused it.. an hell... that would suck to live with
Your baby will be fine. Many moms drink before they find out they are pregnant, I did with both kids. As long as you care for your body from now on you and baby will be fine.
Dont realy have any advice other than my experiance the weekend before I found out I was expecting I was extreamly drunk!!!! may b 6 vodka's+ had no idea I was PG but soon found out that I was about 3 1/2 months gone!! I went on 2 have a happy healthy baby boy ............... so try not to worry to much you'll b fine and yr baby.....
again I stress that in the first few weeks of pg.. the baby isn't getting the nutrients from the mom.. it is all disconnected at that time, no umbilical cord and placenta isn't formed.. it all changes after the first month...
Fetal alchohol syndrome would require the mother to drink several times a week throughout the pregnancy. An occasional drink or two would not cause FAS.
However, what melemeli said is true, the baby begins pulling nutrients directly from the mother by 17 weeks. So this is a critical time to be careful and to make sure you're only taking in the very best nutrients for baby. Don't worry yourself too much, I think your baby is going to be fine.
not to beat a dead horse but it is something I often wonder about as a teacher when I see kids with difficulties
Fetal alcohol syndrome
Causes
When you drink alcohol, it enters your bloodstream and reaches your developing fetus by crossing the placenta. Because a fetus metabolizes alcohol more slowly than an adult does, your developing baby's blood alcohol concentrations are higher than those in your body. The presence of alcohol can impair optimal nutrition for your baby's developing tissues and organs and can damage brain cells.
The more you drink while pregnant, the greater the risk to your unborn baby. The risk is present at any time during pregnancy. However, impairment of facial features, the heart and other organs, bones, and the central nervous system may occur as a result of drinking alcohol during the first trimester, when these parts of the body are in key stages of development. In the early weeks of the first trimester, many women may not be aware that they're pregnant. Alcohol may affect the brain of the fetus at any time during pregnancy.
i just had a natural mc last week, the doctor told that my 5 weeks fetus stopped developing, partly im blaming myself.Because i had some heavy drinks during christmas & new year holiday, but that was before finding out that im already weeks pregnant.Im really afraid, because i know what could possibly happen, & that's it! that's what happened, i miscarriaged, sad to say. im sure that the alcohol affected my baby.but i have no choice,i cant blame myself forever,i need to move on...& im ok now, eventhough sometimes i still cries.GOODLUCK!GOD BLESS

People are often hesitant to say that, because then mothers who are alcoholics might push it to two drinks a night, etc.
If truly all you had is what you stated here, your baby will not be affected.
