After my cousin found out she was pg, she counted back to when she fell down the stairs and had an x-ray...and it was about 2 weeks after conception. Her baby is fine. He's due any day now! I wouldn't worry about it. It was only one and i'm sure it would take more exposure than that. Good luck. If it would set your mind at ease, jut talk to your Dr. about it.
I had a full set of dental x-rays done without even thinking that I might be pregnant (I was also about 2-3 weeks pregnant). All the tests show that the baby's developing normally and the doctor told me that it takes a lot of radiationCystitis - noninfectious Radiation therapy to harm the baby. Talk to you dr if you want reassurance.
It's very difficult to cause harm to an otherwise healthy baby. I would say if you'd only just conceived then if damage was done the embryoCea would've been aborted soon after. My friend recently gave birth to her second baby but she found out at 14 weeks (I still can't believe she didn't have a clue!) that she was pregnant after they did an x-ray on her bowel and colon as she kept having bad pains in that area and low and behold they spotted her baby from the x-ray!!! It's just a funny story to tell now, but there was absolutely no damage done. Congratulations by the way!
I had the laparoscopicGallbladder removal Gynecologic laparoscopy adjustable gastric banding done on Jan. 25th of 2006. Needless to say, my doctor wasn't thrilled about my getting pregnant. But, I haven't used birth control in 3 years and we never got pregnant. I assumed we couldn't or it had something to do with my being overweight. Mine is a little different than your type of surgery because it's considered a restrictive surgery. So, weightloss is much slower. I've lost 55 pounds. So, I'm very happy with my decision to do it. Now, that I'm pregnant, I'm having the fluid removed on Tuesday. I'm hoping that will help me with morning sickness. After having the baby, I can have the fluid put back in. This process helps restrict my eating. I need to lose (after delivering) another 50 lbs. I guess the only monitoring will be my blood and my damn weight. LOL
Thanks to everyone for the good advice and calming my fears. I kow this baby is a fighter and will be fine. Mommy on the other hand is ready to hurl as she types this. So, gotta run!
Love to all! Angela
