Dear Christine:
When a patient has bleeding, whether visible or seen on ultrasound, we suggest reduced physical activity. The lady can look after her personal needs; she can be out of bed around the house; she can do ordinary light activities such as simple food

This prescription is for 48 hours. With obvious bleeding, it is easy to judge the change. With an ultrasound identified bleeding, one must repeat the ultrasound to know what is happening. Hence, contact with the treating physician to have a follow up plan is important.
