Oral cancer and back. Am I going to have shingles now since I got this so late in life?

Dear Virgina:
Shingles and chicken pox are caused by the same virus. When one has had chicken pox, one does not get shingles unless the immunity has slipped to a low level with the passing years and one is re-exposed to the virus.
