ADULT CHICKEN POX

by virginia__0, Nov 22, 1998 12:00AM

Hey- I am 28 years old and I have the chicken pox really bad. I am stiff
in my neck and back. Am I going to have shingles now since I got this so late in life?
  HELP
Dear Virgina:
Shingles and chicken pox are caused by the same virus. When one has had chicken pox, one does not get shingles unless the immunity has slipped to a low level with the passing years and one is re-exposed to the virus.
Keywords: chicken pox
