Daughter having trouble conceiving

by doug__0, Sep 29, 1998 12:00AM

My 29 yrold daughter has been attempting pregnancy for 2 years. Husbands sperm count is normal. Has gone through in utero fertilization proceedures.
had fallopian tubes cleared. has just gone through experimental drug therapy and invitro fertilization in California.
The experimental invitro produced 15 eggs, three of which were planted in her, pregnency failed again.
A while back one of the doctors asked if she had ancestors of mediterranean heritage. What would this have to do with pregnancy?
Dear Doug:
Patients with a mediterranean origin family history have a greater likelihood for some blood type antibodies and some genetic-linked diseases. I assume this was a "screening question" just as we ask if anyone in the family has a bleeding tendency.
