My eight year old child was just diagnosed with
CMVAcute cytomegalovirus (cmv) infection
Cmv serology test.
We went to the doctor for
routineRoutine sputum culture blood work because
he was taking
ritalinRitalin
Ritalin la
Ritalin-sr and we changed him over to adderal.
His liver enzymes came back high. We took him off all
medication and repeated the tests in 2 weeks. The enzymes
were higher still. We repeated the test a month later
and they were still getting higher. We did an abdominal
ultrasound and his
spleenEnlarged spleen
Liver and spleen cysts - ct scan
Liver scan
Spleen metastasis - ct scan
Spleen removal
Spleen removal - series
Splenomegaly was
swollenSwollen glands, as well as his
liver. After repeated blood test the diagnosis so far has
been
CMVAcute cytomegalovirus (cmv) infection
Cmv serology test. They are still running more tests.
Child is otherwise healthy. He had a gastroschesis at
birth with repair on the same day. Everything went
well and he was sent home after a month in the hospital.
He had a hernia repair at 9 months and a lymph node
removed at 2 yrs, due to cat scratch fever.
Does this diagnosis sound right and what should we
do to correct this.
We don't want to cause him liver damage that we cant
fix.
Thanks
