I am 6.5 weeks pregnant and had an ultrasound today after spotting this past week. They found a fetal pole with a heartbeat, but the gestational sac was irregular (not the standard round shape - instead it is almost U shaped). I was told that there is a good chance I could miscarry because of this.
What are the chances of someone with an irregular gestational sac continuing with a regular pregnancy? Are there any causes for this?
