Lower Abdominal "Achy" Pain

Lower Abdominal "Achy" Pain

This is my second pregnancy.  My 1st child is 11 months old.  Yesterday evening I noticed that every time I get up,  my abdomin (abdomen) is really sore like I've done too much but I haven't done anything out of the ordinary.  What can I do to feel better?
  Sally
Dear Sally:
Abdominal soreness without any other symptoms is most commonly "musclar discomfort". The abdominal wall is composed of muscles and fascia supports, and the round ligaments that attach to the uterus run through the abdominal wall. We collectively call these structures "muscular causes of discomfort".
Treatment is symptomatic: local warmth (tepid bath or whirlpool: keep the water temperature below body temperature, 37  C, 98 F); massage; position; supporting garments (elastic underwear); tylenol.
