MENSTRUAL CYCLE AFTER BIRTH

by DAMETRIA__0, Oct 28, 1998 12:00AM

I WAS JUST WANTING TO KNOW AFTER YOU HAVE A BABY IS YOUR CYCLE IS SUPPOSE TO BE NORMAL OR DOES IT BECOME IRREGULAR I HAD A BABY ON SEPT 21 1998 AND MY CYCLE JUST CAME BACK AND I LOST A LOT OF BLOOD AND I FEEL VERY WEEK COULD THIS BE FROM THE AFTERBIRTH BECCAUSE I FEEL VERY SICK.
Dear Dametria:
In ladies who are not breast feeding or using contraceptive medications, menstrual periods return after 4 to 8 weeks. Thus, it fits that this is your menstrual flow.
The menstrual periods may be irregular when they first return, likely because ovulation has not been re-established.
When women have a heavy menstrual flow, that in itself can make them feel light-headed, weak, tired.
Keywords: postpartum return of menses
