Ovulation without menstrual cycle

  HELLO
  I'm just curious some friends and I were talking because a friend had
  miscarriage and you hear so many types of stories on how quickly women
  get pregnant right after their miscarriage and d&c.  I was reading one of the womens
  stories and she got pregnant one week after a miscarriage.  How does this
  happen If their bodies are still in pregnant states and they haven't had
  a menstrual cycle?

The body may still be in its preganant state, however the sudden change in hormones that are usually secreted by the placenta may stimulate the ovaries to release an egg.  Women ovulate before they menstruate, and menstruation is the shedding of the uterine lining when fertilization and implantation do not occur.
