Dear Sharon:
The treatment for bleeding following
deliveryC-section
Delivery presentations
Infant care following delivery is fluid therapy, ususally
intravenousIntravenous
Intravenous pyelogram
Intravenous pyelogram (ivp) salt solutions, and bleed replacement. The cause of the bleeding is simultaneously corrected: most common, the uterus relaxes and is stimulatedto contract with a medication named pitocin (it is the natural hormone, oxytocin). Less often, a blood vessel needs to be resutured.
A blood pressume of 70/30 is low. If it were not corrected, you would faint if you tried to stand up.
Pre-eclampsia is most common during first pregnancies: only 7% of women with this diagnosis are in their second pregnancy. Postpartum bleeding is usually an isolated occurrence.
