Pregnancy/Rapid Heart Beat

Posted By Sue on February 23, 1999 at 12:35:24:

Recently I was in the hospital ER because my heart rate shot up to 218.  Prior to this I had been on Clomid for 4 cycles.  I was sitting at work and all of a sudden got a tremendous hot flash, face turns red and my heart starts beating like crazy.  In the ER they did a pregnancy test but it was negative.  They gave me Adenosine to slow my heart rate back to normal and I was released.  A few weeks later I had not gotten my period and did a home pregnancy test and it was positive.  Went to the dr and he couldn't see why when they tested my blood for pregnancy in the ER it was negative and two weeks later it is positive.  Because I was on Clomid, I know that I conceived around 11/28.  I was in the ER on 12/10 with a negative result and I did a HPT on 12/23 with a positive result.  I think the hospital lab screwed up.  This also happened once before about a year ago.  Although I was not on Clomid we were trying to conceive.  I was not pregnant.  My heart rate shot up to 222.  They did all kinds of tests to find out if I had a heart problem and they found nothing.  Could it have been my hormones out of wack that caused my heart rate to go so?  I also had a misscarriage a few weeks later.  Could what happened to me or the Adenosine I was given to lower my heart rate have contributed to my misscarriage?
