Pregnancy testing

I have a question about pregnancy testing.
If you take a test despite the fact your period may not be late...
is it still possible to determine a pregnancy.  My last month's
period occured the first...however normally it should occur around
the twelth.  I took a test, and it showed up negative..but iw q
question the validity of the test.
  thanks
Dear Charlene:
Pregnancy tests are very reliable. They are intended to diagnose pregnancy when a woman is beyond her missed menstrual flow. When they are used before the missed menstrual flow, they will not detect pregnancy because they were not designed for this purpose.
I am confused by the rest of your question. If your period occurred early, it is likely that you had an abnormal cycle and hence I would expect a pregnancy test to be negative.
