What is the embryological origin of aorta?
Dear Bobby"
The heart and great vessels (this term includes the aorta) are derived from the splanchnic mesoderm, beginning at the 2-3 mm size. This development is independent of the peripheral vascular system with which the great vessels connect at a later stage in gestation. Mesoderm gives rise to the cardiovascular system, muscle, bone, supporting tissues, and other organ systems such as the Genitourinary Systems.
