I had a d & c 6+ weeks ago and my periods still have not returned.  My doctor told me it would take approximately 4-6 for my cycles to return to normal.  My questions are:
1) If I took a pregnancy test would it be a false positive because of the remaining hcg?
2) Is this amount of time to wait for cycles to begin in the range of normal, or should I alert my doctor?
Thank you very much for your help.  I find this forum is excellently run and highly educational.

Generally after a Dand
c your cycle returns after an average of 6 weeks.  You may want to touch base with your provider or wait a little longer to see if it starts up again in another week or so.
