My period seldom comes late, but last month, it was almost 12 days late,
i guess it could be explained by my worry of getting pregnant.
However, this month, it has been late for more than 1 week, I am not as nervous this month,
but up till now, there still isn't any signs of menstruation.
I have all the time had protected sex with my bf, and as far as we noticed,
there has never been any brokage of the condoms.
Now, i start to worry about really getting pregnant this time,
and i'd like to know the chance of really having one.
And also, what may be the cause of this late period?
There have not been change in my diet etc, and i am not experiencing any stress!
Thanx for answering!
Dear Joan:
Stress, such as concern for becoming pregnant, new relationships, travel, all can cause temporary changes in the menstrual cycle.
If you are concerned that condoms are not adequate to prevent pregnancy (they work well when they are used: most failures are due to "taking a chance"), condoms can be combined with vaginal foam for added protection. Condoms can also be used with birth control pills, DepoProvera, or an IUD to both give high pregnancy protection and protection from sexually transmitted diseases.
